The Orientale Lumen Foundation announces that a third Seminary Concert Tour is scheduled to take place September 11 through October 2 at Byzantine Catholic parishes and other sites throughout the Northeastern United States. The choir will include 16 seminarians from the Blessed Theodore Romzha Seminaryin Uzhorod, Transcarpathia, Ukraine who will present a two-hour concert of sacred music, both plain chant and choral arrangements, in the Church Slavonic language.
This third tour will provide an opportunity for parishioners of these American churches to meet these future priests, and for the seminarians from Europe to experience American culture and church life. Some twenty priests from Europe now serve in Byzantine Catholic parishes across the U.S. The concerts will be free and open to the public. Free-will donations made at the concerts, after travel expenses are paid, will be sent to the seminary to help with seminarian education and formation.
The choir will offer their concert at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cathedral on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 7:00pm.
