With the permission of the Holy See in Rome, Holy Spirit Church in Parma Ohio has been elevated to the status of the new Cathedral for our Eparchy of Parma and is to be renamed “The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.”

The Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma recently hosted its annual golf outings in Ohio and Indiana. Thank you to our sponsors, 84 golfers, luncheon guests and donors for supporting us for two days of golf and fun as we raised nearly $22,000 to strengthen our parishes, missions, and ministries to better serve the faithful throughout the Eparchy.

The St. Philomena Mother/Daughter Retreat took place in Maria Stein, Ohio July 26-28. Thirty participants from 4 states gathered to learn about authentic Catholic femininity and to spend time as moms and daughters growing closer to each other and to Christ.
The third annual Eparchial Family Camp was held in Cedar Lake, Indiana which was a site that was equal distance to most of the twelve State region of our Eparchy. Excited and committed families drove as long as 6 hours to attend a week built around an immersion in the sacred chant, cantor ministry and Liturgical life of the Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church.

To help alleviate some of the financial strains on Dormition Parish, the Parish has been conducting a liquidation sale of furnishings, fixtures, appliances, etc., primarily from the old high school, at the property of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
