As a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Bishop Kurt Burnette, along with many bishops of the United States, gathered for the 2023 Spring Plenary Assembly in Orlando, Florida from June 14-16. The bishops spent time in prayer and fraternal dialogue with one another prior to the commencement of the general sessions. The public portion of the assembly began with an address by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, the Papal Nuncio to the United States. The bishops also heard from Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, who serves as Conference president. During the plenary, the bishops received updates on the Eucharistic Revival and on the ongoing preparations for the National Eucharistic Congress in 2024, as well as the participation in World Youth Day with Pope Francis in Lisbon this August.
