Stewardship raises only 52 percent of goal at midway mark

CHICAGO — The Annual Stewardship Appeal has raised just a little more than half of its $190,000 goal in pledges at its half-way mark. As of Jan. 29, the campaign raised $98,258 in pledges, which translates to 52 percent of the 2018 goal. The pledge amount is $51,281 less than at the same time last year.
At press time, only $91,458 of the funds pledged were received.
At the half-way mark, only three parishes have reached or exceeded their goal. The parish with the largest amount in pledges is St. Joseph in Brecksville, Ohio, with $17,885, followed by the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, with $14,115.
Eighteen parishes received pledges totaling less than half of their goal. At press time, five parishes had not submitted pledges yet.
The amount pledged by individuals and organizations that are not affiliated to a parish, mission or faith community to date is $2,040.
At this time last year, $149,539.64 of the $190,000 eparchial goal had been pledged; $137,059.64 was received.
Individuals may make pledges through their parishes or send them to the chancery: Stewardship Appeal, 1900 Carlton Rd., Parma OH 44134-3129. The campaign began Dec. 1. Donations can be made until June 30.
