On Sunday, October 16th, 2022, St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH, celebrated its 125th anniversary (1897-2022) making it the oldest Ruthenian parish in the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma. The day began with the celebration of a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 3:30PM celebrated by Most Reverend Bishop Milan Lach, SJ. The clergy concelebrants at the Hierarchical Liturgy were: Father Joseph Repko, pastor; Archpriest Dennis Hrubiak, retired priest of the Eparchy and former pastor; Father Breyan Eyman, former pastor; Father Andrew Nagrant, former pastor; Father Robert Stash, pastor of St. Michael Byzantine Church, Oregon, OH; and Father Peter Boksay, pastor of St. Emilian Byzantine Church, Brunswick, OH. The deacons serving at the Liturgy were: Deacon William Fredrick, former Institutional Manager at St. Mary Church; and Deacon Gregory Loya, serving at St. Mary Dormition Byzantine Church, Cleveland, OH. The responses of the Divine Liturgy were led by St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Choir, Clinton Township (formerly of Detroit), MI, under the direction of Professor Nicholas J. Nagrant. Following the Liturgy all went to St. Mary Church Hall for a formal banquet and program. St. Mary parishioner co-chairs for this celebration were: Jane Danchisen Pittman and Joanne Danchisen Sauvey (cantor).
