Safe Haven Sunday: Protecting Our Families

To protect our families, especially our children, from the harmful effects of pornography, many Catholic Bishops of America have designated certain Sundays as "Safe Haven Sunday." This initiative encourages pastors and parishes to address the topic of pornography in homilies and other appropriate ways.

In cooperation with Covenant Eyes, the Office of Marriage, Family, and Pro-life Ministries for our Eparchy has designated the First Sunday of the Great Fast as Safe Haven Sunday. Each parish has received the book "Equipped," along with Confession cards and homily bullet points for pastors. These resources are designed to help our community address the issue of pornography and protect our families.
