MARBLEHEAD, Ohio — St. Mary Parish held its Fall Craft Fest during the 23rd Annual Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival, a cherished fall tradition in the region. The church is located next to the lighthouse, which is the oldest operating lighthouse in the Great Lakes.
The craft fair was held in the parish hall Oct. 13, the same day as this free, peninsula-wide event that included tours of the lighthouse, live entertainment, hayrides and more.
The fair had more than 40 vendors of various arts, crafts and wares. Several hundred people came through. Parishioners supplied baked goods for a bake sale and operated the church kitchen to offer meals and hospitality.
Some parishioners held an event parallel to the craft fair, which recalled the Fall Bazaar of the old Main Street church.
The bazaar featured various goods, with a “fish pond” and other games for children, and a raffle of baby dolls and other gifts donated by parishioners.
The event was a key outreach during this busy weekend in Marblehead and helped to foster community and fellowship among parishioners.
