FLUSHING, Michigan — On Sunday, January 5, 2020, the parish families of Saint George in Bay City, MI and Saint Michael in Flushing, MI, met to celebrate a Traditional Rusyn Christmas Eve Supper.
The parish family of Saint Michael hosted the event and provided the fish, garlic, honey and beverages for the Holy Supper. The parish family of Saint George provided the potato Pirohi. Those in attendance brought the other foods like Bobalky, Pagach, Mushroom and vegetable soups. The ECF students put on the traditional play and Father Jim gave a brief explanation of the Dinner and symbolism of the foods and straw. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the afternoon and learned about one of our cherished traditions.
