The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is well underway with our very own St. Mary’s Whiting listed as a stop along the Marian Route, July 1. The pilgrimage began on May 17 and will run until July 16. On July 17, the 10th National Eucharistic Congress will begin as the four branches of the pilgrimage converge in Indianapolis, Indiana in a powerful symbol of unity. The event will run until July 21.
Every day at the Congress is designed to facilitate a life-changing encounter with Jesus, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. Attendees will select their preferred series of impact sessions for the morning and breakout sessions for the afternoon. Then, gathered together as one, the whole assembly will experience the powerful revival sessions in Lucas Oil Stadium each evening.
Pope Francis has appointed Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, as his special envoy. Cardinal Tagle will celebrate the closing Mass on July 21.
Members of our Eparchy may be particularly interested in the Hierarchical Vigil Divine Liturgy at St. Athanasius on Friday, Syro-Malabar Qurbana (Eucharistic Liturgy) on Saturday at 8:30AM and the Closing Mass on Sunday at 10AM. Our very own Bishop Robert will be participating in all three liturgical services. Please note, pre-registration is required for any liturgical participation. There is a small pool of funds to assist parishioners interested in participating in this event. If you are interested in attending, please contact Judy Matsko at [email protected] or 216.741.8773 ext.1225. Funds will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
