The funeral Mass for Pope Francis will take place tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time in St. Peter’s Square. The Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals, and concelebrated by bishops, cardinals, and priests from around the world.
In preparation for the funeral, Pope Francis' body was transferred from the Casa Santa Marta to St. Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday, April 23. Public visitation followed the transfer, allowing the faithful to pay their respects. After the funeral, Pope Francis will be entombed at the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
During this time since he fell asleep in the Lord, we have been praying the Panachida in our parish communities.
"Remembering the ministerial spontaneity that Pope Francis exemplified and encouraged, let us be motivated as an eparchial Church to grow in increasing unity with our spiritual leaders and their unique gifts, that we may grow even stronger in missionary discipleship and godly fellowship." - Bishop Robert M. Pipta
