Eparchial Jubilee Celebrations
PARMA, Ohio — The Eparchy of Parma will celebrate its 50th anniversary June 21-22, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 1900 Carlton Road, under the theme, “Who do you say that I am?” (Mt 16:15). The theme underlines the faithfulness of the eparchy in proclaiming Jesus for 50 years, and the call to keep the focus on Jesus moving into the future. Friday includes a walking pilgrimage for families, prayer services, and a buffet dinner with presentation. Saturday begins with a Moleben to St. John the Baptist, patron of the eparchy, 10 a.m., followed by a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Metropolitan William C. Skurla of Pittsburgh. The homilist will be Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches. The eparchy expects more than 10 bishops from other jurisdictions to join the celebration. A buffet luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. Participants must register for all meals. Each meal costs: adults, $25; ages 13-17, $12.50; age 12 and under, free. To register or for meal tickets, go to:
