Glory to Jesus Christ! Today's reading recounts the remarkable story of Jesus walking on water. After miraculously feeding the multitude with just five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus instructs his disciples to get into a boat and go ahead of him to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. As they sail, a strong wind begins to toss the boat, causing the disciples to fear for their lives. In the middle of the night, Jesus appears to them, walking on the water. Initially mistaking him for a ghost, the disciples cry out in fear. But Jesus reassures them, saying, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Peter, filled with faith, asks Jesus to command him to come to him on the water. Jesus grants his request, and Peter steps out of the boat, walking towards Jesus. However, as Peter becomes aware of the strong wind, he starts to doubt and begins to sink. Jesus immediately reaches out his hand and saves Peter, asking him why he doubted. As they both enter the boat, the wind ceases, and the disciples worship Jesus, declaring him the Son of God. This powerful narrative showcases Jesus' authority over nature and his ability to strengthen the faith of his followers.
