One aspect of the Pastoral Plan is a regular census head count of those participating in liturgy. The head counts are to take place during weekend liturgies every March and October.
There are several reasons for collecting this information:
For those parishes not regularly counting it is helpful information concerning liturgical participation.
By capturing this data on an on-going basis parishes can see growth (or decline) over time.
By compiling this information eparchy-wide, a broader understanding of liturgical participation by parish and region will emerge.
Each parish should designate someone to conduct a head count at each liturgy for the weekends of March and October. Here is a printable chart to record numbers.
Count number of people at each liturgy. If possible, count adults (12 and up) and children (birth-12) separately. If there is more than one liturgy, count each liturgy separately.
Submit numbers for the entire month at the same time. October 2016 numbers due by Monday, November 7.
