"Can you Walk the Talk?" was the theme of the annual Young Adult retreat in the Eparchy of Parma hosted during the last week of July and once again at the breathtaking location of St. Mary parish in Marblehead, Ohio.
Fr. Thomas Loya was the retreat master and in his presentations Fr. Loya challenged the Young Adults to realize that they are gift to the Church and to give freely of their particular gift to the Church. At the same time he reminded the Young Adults that the Church is gift to them.
The outreach to Young Adults in the Eparchy of Parma is based upon the principle of three "S's": Service, Social and Spirituality. The Young Adults spent the first day of the retreat visiting people at a nursing home. The next day was spent on Kelly's Island. The remainder of the retreat featured three lectures by Fr. Loya, time for personal reflection and prayer. The Young Adults were particularly Graced to have Bishop Robert Pipta present who celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday to conclude the retreat.
