Sister Consolata Marie Trudick of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate died Dec. 3, at St. Mary’s Villa in Sloatsburg, New York, after 65 years of religious life; she was 89.
Sister Consolata had celebrated her diamond jubilee this past Aug. 4.
Sister Consolata was born Jan. 3, 1929, to Michael and Katrina (nee Morkis) Trudick. Members of the Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church, Sister Consolata was baptized by Father Stephan Gulyassy at St. John Byzantine Catholic Parish in Cleveland.
She attended John Adams High School, St. Alexis School of Nursing for an RN in nursing and St. Mary’s of the Springs College for a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
After graduation, she entered religious life June 30, 1953, and did her novitiate in Lancaster, Ontario.
In religious life, she had served as a registered nurse at the Home of Divine Providence and at St. Mary’s Villa in Landsdale, Pennsylvania.
After her retirement she served in various ways at St. George’s Ukrainian Church in Pittsburgh and at the Seminary in Stamford, Connecticut, and as secretary of her religious community.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Helen Worth and her brother Steven Trudick.
She is survived by her brother Nicholas, nieces, nephews and her sisters in religious life.
Sister Consolata loved and was loved by her family. She would tell them, “That which is loved is beautiful.” She will be remembered fondly by her family for her purity and joy in all she did.
She would also say, “Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.”
May God grant to his handmaiden Sister Consolata eternal memory and blessed repose.
