PARMA, Ohio — Fifteen teens from several parishes attended the annual ByzanTeen Lenten Day of Reflection at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Palm Sunday, led by the nuns of Christ the Bridegroom Monastery and Bishop Milan Lach, SJ, of Parma.
Inspired by their pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2017, the nuns led the teens in an interactive “pilgrimage” to various prayer stations they set up in the cathedral and on the cathedral grounds that represented different sites in the Holy Land that are significant in Jesus’ journey to the cross, his death and resurrection.
Each nun spoke about a different day of Holy Week at a station that corresponded to the day’s event and led a hymn from one of the day’s liturgical services. The day closed with a talk by Bishop Lach.
“Jesus only had 12 apostles, and look what they did. Do you believe you can change the world?” he said.
