New Patronage Announcement St. Andrew of Crete Byzantine Catholic Outreach

This past weekend, Bishop Robert announced that our Outreach in Iowa will be under the patronage of Our Holy Father Andrew of Jerusalem, Archbishop of Crete.

Known for his prayers and hymns, he authored the Great Canon of Repentance and passed into eternity in 740. Saint Andrew of Crete once said, "Arise my soul, and review your deeds which have preceded from you. Scrutinize them closely, and shed the rain of your tears, declaring openly to Christ your thoughts and deeds, so that you may be justified." This quote, from his Great Canon of Repentance, encourages deep reflection and sincere repentance.

The community will now be known as Saint Andrew of Crete Byzantine Catholic Outreach.
