At 69 years old, he makes history as the first pope from the United States, marking a significant moment in the Church’s global journey.
Throughout his vocation, Pope Leo XIV has exemplified a deep commitment to missionary work, spending much of his career serving communities in South America. His pastoral care and dedication to the faithful have shaped his approach to leadership, fostering unity and compassion among diverse cultures. Most recently, he held a pivotal role in the Vatican as the Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, where he guided the selection and appointment of bishops worldwide, ensuring strong and faithful leadership across the Church.
