The 40 Days for Life vigil is a biannual, internationally coordinated campaign aimed at ending abortion through peaceful means. It involves three main components: prayer and fasting, a continuous 40-day, round-the-clock prayer vigil outside abortion clinics, and community outreach to educate and rally support. The campaign, held during Lent and in the fall, has taken place in over 1,000 cities across 63 countries since 2007.
