Connecticut youth to represent metropolia at Rome meeting

PITTSBURGH — Archbishop William Skurla of Pittsburgh has named Christopher T. Russo to represent the metropolia at the Pre-Synodal Meeting of young people in Rome, March 19-24, ahead of the Synod of Bishops on Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment in the fall.
Young people, ages 18 to 29, from around the world will participate at the Pre-Synodal meeting in preparation for the Synod.
Russo, son of Deacon Stephen and Heather Russo, is a parishioner of St. Nicholas Parish in Danbury, Connecticut, where has been active in youth ministry and evangelization. He graduated from Penn State University in 2016; he is currently employed as a research technologist at Massachusetts General Hospital.
After the six-day meeting, the young people will attend Mass with Pope Francis on Palm Sunday, March 25, on the occasion of the 23rd World Youth Day.
