St. Nicholas Parish, 23300 King Drive, will have its annual Potluck Party, hosted by the Carpatho-Rusin Cultural Society of Michigan, Jan. 6. It will begin with a panachida for deceased members, after 4 p.m. Divine Liturgy; the potluck follows in the hall, with traditional Rusin, Slovak and Hungarian songs by the Beskidy Folk Ensemble, and cantor-led singing of traditional Kol’ady (Christmas carols) in English and Slavonic. The St. Joseph Men’s Fellowship and Book Group will start on a new book, “Great Lent, Journey to Pascha,” by Alexander Schmemann, Jan. 15, 7 p.m.-9, at the Education Center of St. Joseph church, 8111 Brecksville Road.
